ELI is a English study program at the University of Utah. Under the direction of the university, they provide better environment for studying English than smaller language schools do. There are some courses that you can choose from, depends on how hard you want to study. There are many Asian students in the program, and about 1/3 of the students are Japanese probably because they have a sister college in Japan. Salt Lake is a safe city, and since the public transportation is decent, it is easy to live there without a car.

The study and grading would be harder than smaller language schools', but it is good for improving your English skills.
There are buses and train stations around the campus. You don't have to pay for the transportation since the school ID works as a bus/train pass.
